Frequently Asked Questions
What is nervous system coaching?
Nervous system coaching helps you understand and regulate how your body responds to stress. Through somatic tools, breathwork, and mineral support (often guided by HTMA testing), we restore your body’s natural ability to feel calm, safe, and grounded — both in daily life and while riding.

How is this different from therapy?
While therapy focuses on processing thoughts and emotions, nervous system coaching works directly with the body’s physiological response to stress. You’ll learn tools to calm your body in real time, helping you regulate emotions, release stored tension, and communicate more effectively — with yourself and your horse.

I grew up riding and showing horses from the time I was three years old, and I wish I had access to this kind of work back then. I struggled deeply with anxiety, self-esteem, and confidence issues that often showed up the most when working with new horses or stepping into the show ring. Nervous system coaching would have changed everything for me — and that’s why I’m so passionate about offering this kind of support to other riders now.

Do I need to be a show rider to benefit from these sessions?
Not at all! Whether you're newer to taking lessons, are showing academy, or never plan to show at al

How long does it take to see results?
Most clients notice changes within the first few sessions — improved sleep, calmer reactions, and better energy. The optimal length is 6–8 weeks for lasting results, followed by as-needed sessions to maintain regulation and integration.

Can nervous system coaching help with riding anxiety or show nerves?
Yes! Many riders experience anxiety that stems from dysregulation, not lack of skill. By balancing your minerals and learning to regulate your nervous system, you’ll build calm confidence, improve timing and communication, and help your horse feel safer and more connected with you.

What is HTMA and how does it fit into these sessions?
HTMA stands for Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis — a functional lab test that reveals your mineral patterns and stress responses. When we know how your body handles stress biochemically, we can tailor your nervous system tools and nutrition to match your unique needs for deeper, faster results.

Are these sessions virtual or in-person?
Sessions are available both virtually and in-person (in the Blairsville, GA area). Many clients prefer virtual coaching for convenience, while others enjoy the in-person connection and hands-on regulation work. KP can also travel within a 60 mile radius of Blairsville, GA to your barn if preferred (additional fees may apply).

Can I continue sessions after the initial 6-8 week program?
Absolutely. Once your initial coaching container is complete, you can book as-needed sessions anytime to refine your tools, deepen your regulation practice, or prepare for new challenges — like showing season, major life transitions, or increased stress.

Do you work with both horse and rider during these sessions?
Yes. In many cases, dysregulation in the rider directly influences the horse’s behavior and tension. We can assess and support both you and your horse through HTMA testing and regulation work designed to restore harmony in your partnership.
